The main impact of building materials on the surrounding environment is the emission of the so-called "Volatile Organic Compounds" (VOC): these compounds can release vapours at room temperature that are harmful to the health of people living in closed places.
These compounds - thinners, plasticizers and various chemical substances - are contained in several raw materials used in building materials and even natural raw materials may contain them. Indeed, natural raw materials have been found often to release more VOCs than industrial products.
There are many materials that are normally used in our buildings, such as: substrate preparation products, primers, adhesives, joint grouts, levelling grouts and renders.
ADESITAL has been selecting for years the raw materials for preparing its products carefully considering their VOC content; ADESITAL products are thus mostly featured by very low VOC emissions.
